Mignon Brewster

Degree: Graduated from Newman University as a Registered Nurse and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, followed by my Master's in Business Administration.

Certifications: Certificate: ACE Certified Personal Trainer.

Experience: I have always viewed physical activity and exercise as a gift I give myself, the gift of time spent disconnecting from the world or time spent connecting with friends. My activity of choice has been running. I call this 'run therapy.' Over the last 20 years, I have run more half marathons than I can remember, yet it wasn't until nine years ago that I decided to train for and run my first marathon. After my first marathon, I was hooked. Since that time, I have qualified for and run in the Boston Marathon five times, traveled and run marathons in cities/states such as New York; Big Sur; Seattle; St. George, Utah; Phoenix; Texas; and Pike's Peak. In addition to running, I enjoy yoga and strength training, and I believe the combination of these two activities is sure to keep me strong, healthy and able to run for many more years.

However, more than any finisher medal, what I treasure and value the most are the true, vibrant, life-long friendships I have made while training, preparing and running each race. Running to me is about the people you meet along the way that enrich and change your life. I hope to share my experience, passion and love for all different forms of physical activity and exercise, and provide motivation for others to transform and enrich their lives.

Favorite Quote: My passion in life is not merely to strive, but to thrive and do so with passion, compassion, humor and style. (Maya Angelou)
